I'd probably watch child porn, admits former Crimwwatch presenter Nick Ross

"The former Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross admitted today that he would “probably” watch child pornography.

Speaking at The Telegraph Hay Festival, Ross, who provoked censure last week with his views on rape, claimed that all humans were essentially curious.

“We’re all inquisitive,” he said. “I had never seen, until I started working on Crimewatch, child pornography.

“I think if someone came to me and said: 'Would you like to see what all the fuss is about?’, I’m sorry, I probably would say yes.”

Ross referred to a study in which internet users clicked on links to extreme pornography even if they had not searched for it.

He said: “Does this tell us that we’re all awful? I think not.”"

Nick Ross claims controversial Crime book 'strengthens the arguments' of rape victims

"The book, Crime, challenges the social theories about all kinds of crime and even how it is far more the product of wealth than poverty.

Ross, who admitted that he had been caught shoplifting chocolate at his local branch of Woolworth when he was a boy, said everyone was at risk of temptation when it came to breaking the law, stating: "We are no angels."

He spoke about one case in which people were invited to visit a website to download free software but links to pornography sites, including those showing indecent images of children, showed up alongside the link they needed to click on.

"If someone said, 'would you like to see what the fuss is about?' I would probably say 'yes'. We create massive temptations.""

"I'd probably watch child abuse films/pics, admits former Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross"

"A question for Mr Ross. What exactly do you think "child pornography" is? Do you think this is some 16 year old in a slightly risqué pose? Some old 1980's Sam Fox page 3 spread? No Nick Ross, this is child abuse and child rape [sometimes], captured on screen [sic] for the "enjoyment" of paedophiles [sic]. These are films of babies being sexually abused, of young children being gang-raped [X] - a life of misery and suffering for children [sic] exploited by disgusting, vile people [sic] who fornicate [?] to this wretchedness that has been shared online. "

Comment:

Richard, it would have been a fair point [although, not discounting what Mr Ross, actually said], if you had placed "very rarely, or apparently" at (X).

Richard, you are not a stupid man, and worthy of debate, please just keep things in perspective and scale.
